British entrepreneurship on science and technology is now developing rapidly. Although data from the UK Companies Registry shows that the number of new UK registered companies in 2017 was lower than that in 2016, studies show that the proportion of technology-based start-ups has increased.
Statistics from RSM International showed that the number of newly established technology-based startups in the UK increased by nearly 60% last year. In addition, London continues to dominate the technology industry and the number of technology-based start-ups established in London in 2017 accounted for more than 40% of the total. However, London is not the only active area for UK’s technology-based entrepreneurship. According to data from the UK Companies Registry, technology startups in every region increased in last year. In the spring statement last month, Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond said that in every one hour in the UK, a technology start-up was born.
