The 2018 China Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week was held from 9th to 15th in October in Chengdu (main venue), Beijing and various parts of the country. Exhibitions, roadshows, investment, financing docking and other innovative entrepreneurial activities were featured. Innovation and entrepreneurship continue to pick up speed and have become an important engine for economic growth and upgrading. This year’s event integrated offline exhibitions with online experiential platforms, and showcased new business models and innovation results across various industries at home and abroad.

Its main achievements are as following:

    • Strengthened Cooperation between SMEs and State-owned Enterprises

In Chengdu, a total of 150 companies participated in the exhibition; they come from the IT, new energy, medical, ecological and construction industries, etc. Among which includes both large state-owned enterprises and start-ups. A group of high-end scientific and technological professionals, outstanding entrepreneurs and professional investors, who have previously been restricted by institutional mechanisms, have now become the main force of innovation and entrepreneurship. Access to resources for innovation have become more free and efficient. At the same time, with the continuous optimization of the entrepreneurial environment, platforms for the sharing of innovative entrepreneurial resources have improved, and a trend for the integration of state-own enterprises and SMEs’ innovation efforts is surfacing.

    • Innovation Drives the Transformation and Development of Traditional Enterprises

Innovation and entrepreneurship is not only a matter for emerging enterprises, but is also crucial for traditional enterprises. Traditional enterprises must transform and upgrade while staying dedicated to continuous innovation, in order to cope with the complex changes in the economic situation at home and abroad, and achieve high-quality development. With the emergence of innovative achievements and high-tech start-ups, traditional enterprises must continue to accelerate the pace of transformation and upgrading, as well as their innovation efforts.

    • Environmental Optimization Stimulates Economic Vitality

At present, China has implemented an innovation-driven strategy by systematically promoting mass entrepreneurship and public innovation, in an attempt to organize economic work with the construction of industrial and innovation ecological chain, and further optimize the environment for innovation and entrepreneurship. "Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation" has become an important carrier for the development of new economy and the promotion of high-quality development.
