    The G20 Entrepreneurship Roundtable 2018 was held in Xiamen on November 15-16, 2018. Government officials from G20 countries, senior representatives of relevant international organizations, officials from related Chinese government departments, scholars and experts in entrepreneurship, and entrepreneur representatives came together to share and exchange their insights and opinions on entrepreneurship promotion. 

    Ms. Zhang Yizhen, the Vice Minister of Human Resources and Social Security of PRC extended her warm welcome in her opening remark to all the representatives and expressed her sincere thanks for the continuous efforts by Entrepreneurship Research Center on G20 Economies serving as a platform for exchange of ideas, opinions and insights about entrepreneurship promotion.

    Mr. Hao Bin, Director General of International Cooperation of Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, spoke about how G20 members can share their good practice to jointly boost the implementation of G20 Entrepreneurship Action Plan and enhance the employment.

    Officials from International Organizations, experts of entrepreneurship research made keynote speeches on global entrepreneurship and employment situation and trend.

    Mr. Victor Van Vuuren, Director of Department of Enterprises, the International Labour Organization pointed out that the governments are expected to play an important role in policy service to provide more support to the inclusive business models by enabling regulatory framework and facilitating access to financing.

    Mr. Marco Bianchini, the economist of OECD, stated that high-quality employment is mainly concentrated in the service industry, which is considered as the global trend. OECD also had much research on it.

    Professor Gao Jian, the Director of the Entrepreneurship Research Centre on G20 Economies, thought that entrepreneurship is very important in the innovation-driven era and that excellent characters, education, development of modern economy and institutional environments are all essential elements for the cultivation of entrepreneurship. And he noted that institutional environment is an essential factor as well.

    The roundtable discussion included four sessions:"Government Services for Entrepreneurship","Services in Finance and Business Development","Entrepreneurs' Rights & Interests and Social Security","Entrepreneurial Education, Training and Culture".

    The first session of the roundtable discussion covered three topics: "legislations on entrepreneurship", "innovation of management system to facilitate entrepreneurship" and "preferential policies in financial support". 

    The second session of the roundtable discussion explores two kinds of services: "loan, VC and featured financial service" and "service for the development and growth of start-up enterprises".

    The third session of the roundtable discussion focuses on "protection of entrepreneurs' right of innovation, development and property ".

    The fourth session of the roundtable discussion explores three sub-topics of "entrepreneurial education in school", "targeted entrepreneurial training" and "entrepreneurial culture cultivation".

    Organized by the Entrepreneurship Research Center on G20 Economies, the G20 Entrepreneurship Roundtable is a major event to facilitate the joint implementation of the G20 Entrepreneurship Action Plan by G20 members. 

    The Center aims to serve as a platform to boost exchange, sharing and cooperation among G20 members and international organizations. 

    As G20 Entrepreneurship Roundtable 2018 has concluded successfully, the subsequent series of activities will begin, to call upon the member states to promote policies and services that support entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation.
