  • Mr. Feng Mi, Chinese delegate from 58 Group, shared his research on the gig economy development in China, based on online survey data of 58 Town. It is found that the gig economy plays a very important role in the Chinese labor market, with many participants, and the income is relatively stable but still low. At the same time, 35% of the gig workers are engaged in internet-related work, while women are more likely to choose online gig work. A majority of respondents have obtained the work opportunity through the internet platform, and the internet has played an important role in providing equal employment opportunities in rural areas. Finally, the participants in the gig economy are also eager to obtain more labor and social security.
