Ms. Forest Yang, from the Economic Section at US Embassy in China, briefed the Women Entrepreneurship Finance Initiative and stressed the roundtable’s emphasis on women’s role in entrepreneurship. Women account for 37% of entrepreneurs in the US, as against 30% around the world, which is far from enough. Measures to improve women’s economic participation often have a multiplier effect in economic development. This is not only a precondition for gender equity, but also a prerequisite for economic development, prosperity and competitiveness.
