The government has a five-year plan to increase the number of unicorns from 6 to 100. On November 24th Japan put together a five-year plan to strengthen start-up nurturing, intending to raise six unicorns to 100 in the future through funds to support the business, it also proposes to increase investment in start-ups from the current Y800 bn a year to Y10,000 bn till 2027.
