Indonesia Steps Up Science Techno Park Initiative to Support Local Innovators

Indonesia has announced the addition of three more technoparks
that should help support the work of local innovators. The country
already has 18 parks as part of the "Riset Pro" initiative. Originally,
the government planned to establish 100 science technoparks. The
scheme was labeled as a national program priority but the inadequate
number of scientists helping with the program stalled the process.
To address the lack of scientists and tech experts working on the
program, the ministry tapped non-ministerial groups and public
universities to achieve this year's target. Among the agencies and
institutions involved is the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) and
the National Nuclear Energy Agency (BATAN). This collaboration
will provide the opportunity to open STPs at public universities.
The Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB) already has its own science
techno park, known as the IPB Science Techno Park. It focuses on Techno Park and Incubator facilities. The Techno Park’s masterplan
several segments including bio-science, food production, and tropical included three study centers covering seven fields of study in the
agriculture. Products from the park will be sold to the market with University. These study centers are the Maritime Centre, the Creative
assistance from the Indonesian government. Sepuluh Nopember Centre, and the Automotive Centre. Hopefully, all of this will create an
Institute of Technology has taken a serious step towards becoming a innovation ecosystem for Indonesian start-ups involving the academy,
research university with the inauguration of the University’s Science start-up companies, the government, and the community.

Australia Government to Launch Blockchain Incubator Lab

By September 2019, Australia may have its own blockchain incubator lab. The country provides
Crypto SA, the blockchain advisory firm with $170,000 to construct the lab. Crypto SA supports
the firms with legal and financial advice, smart contract support, ecosystem development, and
exchange listing. It is believed that the initiative will promote Adelaide, the city where the lab will
be located, with more blockchain technology. Ten blockchain startups will be able to use the co-
working space and mentoring services for free and it seems that a number of firms have already
provided their applications. In addition to the mentorship and space, those in the program
will also receive training in blockchain technology and business advice. The impact of such a
program may be profound as well. Once the program is complete, Crypto SA plans on sending
entrepreneurs to countries such as China or Singapore where they will present their work at an industry showcase similar to that of Shark Tank.
Further, because the grant is coming from the government, it could be that the country is taking a friendly and open approach to blockchain
           technology.

Argentina Fosters Tech Entrepreneurship by Active Incubators

Although the economy is currently experiencing one of the most serious financial crises in Argentina,
entrepreneurship in tech field has not been affected. In Buenos Aires, a specific region was
established in 2008 to promote the innovation and technology development. Currently, tech startups
           get good services there.
The IncuBAte, an incubator established under the Education and Innovation Department of the
Government in Buenos Aires, provides guidance, funding and workspace for entrepreneurs. It mainly
targets the commercial, production, social and technological projects with a history of less than
4 years, which have significantly social impact in the city. Four types of services are included as
following: mentoring and advice from experts in a personalized manner, non-reimbursable funding, connections with other stakeholders in the
entrepreneurial ecosystem, and workspace. It launched two types of projects in 2019, one is creative industry projects, including design, tourism,
food, media, and audio-visual. The second is knowledge industry projects, including technology, science, environment, agricultural technology
and education. Because of the wealth of capital fund for the acceleration and incubator program, the IncuBAte has greatly accelerated the growth
           of startups.
